Status:

Annual Spring (occasionally into Summer) passage migrant from South Atlantic breeding grounds. Primarily April and May, but occasonally from late March and into June. High counts usually around 100 birds per hour.


Local Habitat:

Mainly pelagic but can be seen easily from shoreline viewpoints at Devonshire Bay, Spittal Pond and primarily Coopers Point. Has occasionally been seen flying over the island, especially at night.


Commonly Seen:

Ocean environment around the island. South shore viewpoints, primarily Coopers Point.
