Tringa flavipes


Status:

Common Migrant primarily in the fall months (mainly late July to November) when it can be abundant after storms. Often multiple birds remain overwinter with a small spring passage increase noted annually. Birds have been documented in every month.


Local Habitat:

Pond edges and flooded fields, occasionally coastal.


Commonly Seen:

Spittal pond. Pond edges, golf courses and any flooded grassy areas after heavy rain/storms.
