Common Tern

Status:

Increasingly rare visiting breeding bird. Breeding population devastated in Hurricane Fabian 2003.


Local Habitat:

Rocky islets in sheltered sounds and harbours.


Habits:

Return to Bermuda in early April and lay one to three eggs. Chicks have usually fledged by July. Adult birds leave in October; young birds can remain into November.
