Status:

Common to occasionally very common migrant and winter visitor recorded between August and May. Formerly a very common overwintering bird with a decline noted in recent years.


Local Habitat:

Parks and gardens Island wide. Can be found in Casuarinas, dense shrubbery and often seen feeding on fallen foliage at ground level post storms.


Habits:

often in small flocks over winter

Arboretum, Botanical Gardens, Spittal Pond, parks and golf courses
