Canada Goose
Branta canadensis
Status:
Annual visitor in small numbers, usually involving single birds. Could be found at any location and in any month (although summer records are sporadic) on the island, although they tend to favour Golf courses with water access. Larger flocks involving up to 22 birds have been documented in recent years.
Local Habitat:
Favours Golf courses, although has been found on paddocks with cattle and on open ponds.
