A Common Loon was in Dolly’s Bay, St.David’s 22 Dec and died in captivity at BAMZ the following day. A Brown Booby found at Dockyard 14 Sep was taken to BAMZ and later released. A Northern Gannet washed up on Natural Arches beaches 30 Oct (early by 3 weeks). A Magnificent Frigatebird was over Astwood Park 28 Nov. A Eurasian Wigeon was on Spittal Pond 15 Dec. Bermuda’s 6th Black Scoter was seen on North Shore 4 Oct. Five White Ibis were seen at Great Head Park 12 Oct with one remaining at Devonshire Marsh to Nov 1999 (DBW). A Rough-legged Hawk was over Ferry Point Park 31 Oct-28 Nov. A Wood Sandpiper was at Spittal Pond, Smith’s 11-12 May. Three Bar-tailed Godwits at Ferry Point Park 21 Oct were Bermuda’s second record with one staying into to 24 Dec (EA). A Red Phalarope was on Spittal Pond, Smiths 3-8 Sep. An Atlantic Puffin was found dead at Somerset Long Bay 25 Feb. An Eastern Wood-Pewee at Hog Bay Park 9 Nov was the latest fall record. An Ash-throated Flycatcher, the second record for Bermuda was at Outerlea Farm, Smiths 31 Jan-1 Feb (BL). A Cliff Swallow at Spittal Pond 25 Jul was early by one day. A Marsh Wren, the first record for Bermuda, was discovered at Pembroke Marsh 24-25 Jan (EA). A Northern Mockingbird was at Hog Bay Park Jan-18 Feb. A Lark Sparrow, the third record for Bermuda, was found on the Heydon Trust 12-13 Oct.
